UnleashedX is a purpose-driven enterprise based in the vibrant Lake Macquarie region of NSW, co-founded by Darren Lomman and Alisha Fouhy. The mission is simple yet powerful: to break down barriers and create life-changing experiences for people living with mobility challenges. Whether it’s through adrenaline-filled adventure sports or meaningful everyday activities, UnleashedX is committed to ensuring that people with disabilities don’t just participate in life—they thrive in it.
Darren Lomman brings over two decades of experience in social innovation, engineering, and disability advocacy. His journey began in 2003 when, as a university student, he modified a motocross bike to help a rider with a disability return to the sport he loved. That project sparked a lifelong passion for making the impossible possible through engineering and empathy. Shortly after, Darren founded the Dreamfit Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation that developed custom recreational and mobility equipment for people with disabilities. As CEO from 2003 to 2016, he led Dreamfit to national recognition, impacting thousands of lives.
Throughout his career, Darren has received numerous accolades, including being named Australian Biomedical Engineer of the Year and WA Young Australian of the Year in 2007. He also served as an Ambassador for the Disability Services Commission for 14 years, further cementing his role as a leading voice in the sector. In 2016, Darren expanded his social impact focus by founding Greenbatch, a sustainability-focused not-for-profit that tackled recycling and environmental education across Western Australia. He led Greenbatch until 2022.
Following his work in sustainability, Darren became the NSW State Manager for Hireup, Australia’s largest online platform for disability support workers. In 2022, he joined the board of Little Dreamers Australia, advocating for young carers and continuing his commitment to social inclusion and innovation.
Together with Alisha, Darren launched UnleashedX to fuse their shared passion for accessibility, innovation, and adventure. Alisha brings her experience in hospitality and drive to ensure people with disabilities can push boundaries and enjoy powerful, memorable experiences. UnleashedX is not just a business—it’s a movement redefining what’s possible, proving that adventure is for everyone.
